Shopify Integration
Connect your Shopify store to Velopage and export products with one click.
Connecting Your Shopify Store
Step 1: Get Your Shopify Credentials
- Log into your Shopify admin panel
- Go to Settings → Apps and sales channels
- Click "Develop apps" → "Create an app"
- Name it "Velopage Integration"
- Configure Admin API scopes (see required permissions below)
- Install the app and copy your Admin API access token
Required API Permissions
Your Shopify app needs these scopes:
- →write_products (Create and update products)
- →read_products (Read existing products)
- →write_files (Upload product images)
- →read_files (Read uploaded images)
Step 2: Connect in Velopage
- Go to your Velopage Dashboard → Settings
- Click "Connect Shopify Store"
- Enter your store URL (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com)
- Paste your Admin API access token
- Click "Save" - Done!
One-Click Export
Once your store is connected, exporting is instant:
From Product Pages
- →Open any product page in Velopage
- →Click "Export to Shopify" button
- →Product appears in your Shopify store in seconds
What Gets Exported
- Product title and optimized description
- All product images (including AI-generated ones)
- Product variants (colors, sizes, etc.)
- Pricing and compare-at pricing
- SEO metadata (meta title, description)
- Product tags and categories
Export Status
Products are exported as "Draft" by default. You can change this in your Shopify settings and make them live when ready.
Export to Gadget
Alternative option: Export your products to Gadget for advanced automation:
- →Open any product page
- →Click the "Export" dropdown
- →Select "Send to Gadget"
- →Product data is sent to your Gadget app
Troubleshooting
"Invalid access token"
Your Shopify API token may be incorrect or expired.
Solution:
- →Go back to your Shopify admin
- →Regenerate a new access token
- →Update the token in Velopage Settings
"Permission denied"
Your Shopify app does not have the required permissions.
Solution:
- →Go to your Shopify app settings
- →Add the required API scopes (listed above)
- →Reinstall the app to apply new permissions
"Export failed"
The product could not be exported to Shopify.
Solution:
- →Check your internet connection
- →Verify your Shopify store is accessible
- →Try again in a few moments
- →If issue persists, contact support@velopage.io
"Images not uploading"
Product images are not appearing in Shopify.
Solution:
- →Ensure your Shopify app has write_files permission
- →Check image URLs are publicly accessible
- →Try re-exporting the product
